Conference on digital cultural heritage at the Swedish Institute

Dipylon attended the international conference “Future for the Past (Digital Transduction and Visualization of Historical Materials)” that took place at the Swedish Institute of Athens, February 12-14.

Having in mind both media (manuscripts, artifacts, epigraphy, maps, interactive and gaming interfaces, software) and methods (Collecting and Archiving, Semantic Annotation and Text Mining), the ultimate purpose of this workshop was to confront the current state of Digital Research Infrastructures (libraries, museums and archives, the incorporation of VR/AR, literacies, space and place as socio-technical components) and to discuss the importance of openness and linked data on an international level.
