Presentation at the international workshop “Archaeology in the City”, 2019

Dipylon society participated in the international workshop “Archaeology in the City” which took place at Vrije University in Amsterdam (VUA) on the 16th and 17th of October, 2019. The workshop was organized by CLUE+ and the University of Naples “Federico II” (Dipartimento di Studi Umanistici). More information can be found here.

Our associate member Matina Lampraki, survey engineer, presented the current project of Dipylon Mapping Ancient Athens in a paper entitled “Mapping Ancient Athens: from the fragmented archaeological data to the digital map”. Theodoros Vakkas, CTO of GET company, which collaborated with Dipylon for the implementation of the project database, also participated in the presentation.

The project Mapping the Antiquities of Athens is funded by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and the Aegeas Non-Profit Civil Company.
